DNA Lounge

From Free net encyclopedia

The DNA Lounge is a popular late-night San Francisco nightclub, founded in the 1980s, which caters particularly to the digerati scene. It was purchased in 2000 by celebrated hacker Jamie Zawinski, who spearheaded a successful grassroots effort to maintain its many late-night permits. At the time, his plan was to make it a "total nerd space".

When not functioning as a nightclub, the DNA Lounge regularly hosts hacker conventions such as CodeCon. The release of Mozilla 1.0 was celebrated here in 2002.
