David Solway

David Solway (born 1941) is a Canadian poet, educational theorist, travel writer and literary critic of Jewish descent. He is a member of the Jubilate Circle and formerly professor of English Literature at John Abbott College. He lives in Hudson, Quebec.

David Solway is renowned for his metier both as a poet and as a teacher, for his common sense, skepticism, flamboyancy and polemical outspokenness. For inspiration, he invented a Greek poet named Andreas Karavis, whose work he published in translation.
