From Free net encyclopedia
Template:UnsourcedTemplate:Mergeto Funk metal is a type of music that incorporates hard-driving heavy metal guitar riffs, the pounding bass rhythms characteristic of funk, and sometimes, hip hop-style rhymes. The style emerged in the mid-1980s pioneered by Extreme in the mid-1980s, and later popularized by early Red Hot Chili Peppers, Prince, Primus, and Faith No More.
