Maria White Lowell

Maria White Lowell (8 July, 1821–27 October, 1853) was an American poet and abolitionist.

She was born as Maria White in Watertown, Massachusetts. In 1844 she married James Russell Lowell, also a noted poet, writer, and foreign diplomat. They had four children, three of whom died in infancy.

Maria White Lowell died in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
