Cuban Mojito
Ernest Hemingway was fond of the Mojitos at La Bodeguita del Medio in Havana, Cuba, though his recipe had no sugar.
Note: The Mojito is based on an older drink called a "Draquecito". Which was named after Sir Francis Drake.
Bacardi mojito
Rum producer Bacardi popularised an updated version of the drink in the early 2000s. It was featured in the action film Bad Boys II, and in 2002 was used in the James Bond movie Die Another Day. In 2003, an episode of The O.C. made reference to a virgin version of the drink. In an episode of Family Guy, Brian the dog references a bartender's ability to create a Mojito. Mojitos were also referenced in a 2005 episode (The Long Con (season 2 Episode 13)) of the television program Lost. A flaming version was referenced in the 2006 movie, The Pink Panther, when it was first being consumed in a casino by 006, in parody of the James Bond movie mentioned before.
Baja Mojito
The Baja version of Mojito uses Tequila in place of Rum. Sometimes also called a "Mexito" due to Tequila's Mexican origins.
