Proprietary technologies
- ReWire
- ReWire effectively enables two separate applications to be used as one. It is most commonly used to sync transport functions such as play, stop, rewind, loop, and scrubbing. ReWire has been integrated into a variety of applications including Garage Band, Ableton Live, and Pro Tools.
- REX
- REX files are created by ReCycle and read by Reason. ReCycle 1.0 documents were given the .RCY extension and could be exported as .REX files for use in Reason. ReCycle 2.0 made these formats obsolete and now solely creates .RX2 files which are read natively by Reason. The REX2 format employs lossless compression to reduce file size.
- ReFills
- A document format for packing songs and samples in to a single document, meant for simplifying distribution. Requires the Refill Packer.
