RIP

RIP may stand for:
- "Rest In Peace", a phrase which often appears on tombstones. The expression comes originally from the Latin, requiescat in pace, and the English version is an example of backronym formation (although the two phrases mean roughly the same thing). Also, in Italian, it is said as "Riposi In Pace".
- Richard Hamilton, the Detroit Pistons basketball player's nickname.
- Remote Imaging Protocol or "RIPscrip", a method of using graphics instead of text on a BBS
- Routing Information Protocol, a routing protocol for IP, IPX, or IDP
- Register Instruction Pointer, in the x64 instruction sets
- Raster image processor, a component used in a printing system which produces a bitmap
- Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000, the British government's controversial rules for intercepting communications on all telecommunications (including the Internet) and postal networks
