Rob Pilatus

Image:Robandfab.jpgRobert 'Rob' Pilatus (June 8, 1965April 2, 1998) was a member of the pop music duo Milli Vanilli with Fabrice Morvan. Born in New York City to an American soldier and a German stripper, he grew up in Munich, Germany. Pilatus was working as a model when he was chosen as a public face for producer Frank Farian's band. After the band was exposed as a fraud, Pilatus turned to a life of crime in Los Angeles. In December 1995, Pilatus attacked a man with a metal lamp base. In January 1996 he vandalized a home and slapped another man. In February 1996 Pilatus slapped a man who caught him trying to break into his car. Pilatus pleaded no contest to those three attacks and related charges in 1996. He was sentenced to three months in jail and six months in drug rehabilitation.

In 1996, he was hospitalized after being hit in the head with a bat during a failed robbery attempt. He died in Frankfurt, Germany on April 2, 1998 from a drug overdose at the age of 32.
