Radio and TV
Kuby is now the co-host, with Curtis Sliwa, of the popular "Curtis and Kuby in the Morning" program which is aired on weekdays from 5 to 10 am on WABC-AM 770 in New York City. He is also a frequent pundit and fill-in anchor on Court TV.
Kuby has often stated that he is a communist, although he has never stated he was card carrying member of the Communist Party of the United States (CPUSA). Traditionally, one is considered a "communist" if he is a member of CPUSA, a minor political party with a long history of association with the former Soviet Union. Kuby has also stated he is an atheist, a point he often makes in sarcastic remarks on the airwaves with Sliwa, a Roman Catholic. One of his favorite sardonic quotes includes, "thank God I'm an atheist".
His partner Curtis Sliwa has proven himself to be a real sport in “putting up” with Kuby over the years together. He is himself a self described conservative Republican, with a moderate Roman Catholic social morality. In conjunction, the jingle from the movie The Odd Couple has become a regular background soundtrack on the morning drive show. On the air, Sliwa often defers to Kuby on most legal and government issues, however, he does not hesitate to joust with Kuby on many social issues, especially those involving crime and punishment of street criminals, which apparently as the founder of the Guardian Angels, he sees himself as an expert.
Family
Since 1986, Kuby has been in a long term relationship with Marilyn Vasta, or has he refers to her on air, his "beloved Marilyn." They have one daughter. On January 24, 2006, Ron Kuby married the "beloved Marilyn." The date was chosen because it was the 20th anniversary of their first date.
Popular culture
