Four United States Navy ships have been named USS Intrepid, signifying a willingness to go into danger to achieve the goal.
- USS Intrepid, the first ship to bear this name, was an armed ketch originally built by France, sold to Tripoli as Mastico, and captured by the US in 1803.
- USS Intrepid, the second ship to bear this name, was an experimental steam torpedo ram commissioned 1874.
- USS Intrepid, the third ship to bear this name, was a training and receiving ship launched in 1904.
- USS Intrepid (CV-11), the fourth ship to bear this name, was an aircraft carrier in World War II, later recovered the astronauts of Gemini 3, and as of 2005 is a museum ship called the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum.
At least four starships in the fictional Star Trek fictional universe have been named USS Intrepid.
- A starship named Intrepid appeared in Star Trek: Enterprise commanded by a Captain Ramirez. The ship class and registry number of this Intrepid are unknown, although it is assumed to have a lower maximum speed than Enterprise.
- USS Intrepid (NCC-1631), the second ship to bear this name, was a Constitution class starship mentioned in Star Trek: The Original Series with an all-Vulcan crew.
- USS Intrepid (NCC-38907), the third ship to bear this name, was a Excelsior class starship mentioned in Star Trek: The Next Generation. It rescued survivors from the massacre at the Khitomer outpost. Its chief petty officer, Sergey Rozhenko, adopted one such survivor, Worf.
- USS Intrepid (NCC-74600), the forth ship to bear this name, was the pathfinder of the Intrepid class starship. Circa stardate 47310.2, Commander Donald Kaplan was the chief engineer on the Intrepid and engaged in power conversion efficiency contests with Commander Geordi La Forge on the USS Enterprise. The Intrepid was part of Battle Group Omega sent to intercept the Reman warship Scimitar circa stardate 56844.9 in 2379.
