Wayne Static (real name Wayne Richard Wells) was born on November 4, 1965 is an American musician who is currently the Singer, guitarist, and programmer for the Industrial Metal band Static-X. His hometown is Shelby, Michigan and he graduated from Western Michigan University. Before Static-X he worked as an asparagus picker. He was given lessons, which paid off a year later when he won a talent contest playing “Skip to My Lou.” Wayne attended Shelby High School and was described in his high school years as being at the top of his class when he graduated at age 17. He is also considered very bright and hard working while still able to have a good time and put on a show.

Wayne has a signature Epiphone flying-V guitar. He also uses Marshall amplifiers, Seymour Duncan pickups and Ernie Ball Strings. He also tends to keyboard for Static-X. His tall standing hair is his most notable feature, which is held up, as mentioned in the Wisconsin Death Trip liner notes, by white rain hair spray.

In 2002, Wayne collaborated with X-Ecutioners and Linkin Park to perform "It's Goin' Down" (from the debut album by the X-Ecutioners, "Built From Scratch").

Previous to forming Static-X, Wayne was lead singer and guitarist for the gothic band, Deep Blue Dream.pl:Wayne Static
