Y&T

From Free net encyclopedia

Y&T ("Yesterday & Today") is a rock band who formed in 1974. They hail from California's East Bay. The band put out two albums on London Records in the 1970s, before putting out several albums on A&M Records beginning in 1981, as well as albums on Geffen Records, Avex Records, and others.

The original members of Y&T are Dave Meniketti (lead vocals & lead guitar), Leonard Haze (drums), Phil Kennemore (bass) and Joey Alves (rhythm guitar). In the 1980's, Alves was replaced by guitarist/songwriter/backing vocalist John Nymann. Other personnel changes ensued over the years, however, the original lineup (featuring Nymann) continues to tour. The band's signature hits include "Summertime Girls, (which reached #55 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1985)" and "Mean Streak."
