USS Sovereign

In the Star Trek fictional universe, USS Sovereign (NCC-73811), launched in 2373, is the pathfinder for the Sovereign class of starships. The Sovereign is the testbed for several new technologies such as enhanced deflectors. The program was considered a failure when it turned out that the available warp cores at that time were not powerful enough to suit the huge energy needs of the starship's systems. The USS Sovereign also played a key role in the Vesuvi event.

Currently, there are only two Sovereign Class Starships, the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-E) and the USS Sovereign (NCC-73811)

The Sovereign is in the fleet of Fleet Admiral Liu, and is based out of Starbase 12 in the Maelstrom

In the computer game Star Trek: Bridge Commander the player assumes command of the USS Sovereign halfway through the storyline. To be more accurate, the player has the control on his first Quarter of the game on the USS Dauntless galaxy class, and then the rest of it, the USS Sovereign.Template:ST-stub
