Vladimir Posner

From Free net encyclopedia

Vladimir Posner (born April 10, 1934) is a Russian journalist, and best known for being a communicative television personality for the USSR during the Cold War. His near accentless American English helped open up a dialogue with the Soviet Union at the time. He was a favorite guest of Ted Koppel's Nightline news show during the 1980s.

In 2004, he was a political talk show host in Russia.

Vladimir Posner was born into a Jewish family in the USA and named after Vladimir Lenin. His father was a Communist who immigrated to Moscow in early 1950s—taking along his family, including his then teenage son Vladimir.
