Abaddon

Template:Otherusesabout Abaddon is a Biblical Hebrew word meaning "destruction".
In Biblical poetry (Job 26:6; Proverbs 15:11) it comes to mean "place of destruction", or the realm of the dead, and is associated with Sheol. Abaddon is also one of the compartments of Gehenna.
In Revelation 9:11, it is described personified as the demon Abaddon, "Angel of the Abyss", rendered in Greek as Apollyon.

In the fantasy series The Magic Kingdom of Landover by Terry Brooks, Abaddon is the name of the demonic realm.
In the computer game Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, Abaddon is the name of an optional dungeon in Act V. This dungeon is designed to look hellish or demonic.
Abaddon is one of final bosses in Nintendo DS game Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow.
Abaddon is one of the Chaos lords in Warhammer 40k.
Abaddon is mentioned in the manga Angel Sanctuary by Kaori Yuki as one of the sons of Lucifer. It is depicted as a monster whose gaze can kill anyone it looks at.
Abaddon is an enemy in the Final Fantasy series.
Summer in Abaddon is a 2004 release by the indie rock band Pinback. The title is presumably meant to seem innocuous on first reading.
