History
The Iowa Stars were founded by Howard Baldwin, of Hockey Holdings & Management Group, and Dallas businessman Bob Schlegel and will begin play in the 2005-06 AHL season. They have a five year affiliation agreement with the Dallas Stars and a one year agreement with the Edmonton Oilers.
- The franchise was previously known as: Louisville Panthers (1999-2001).
