Scott Ian

Image:2001-05-27-scottian.jpg Scott "Not" Ian (stage name of Scott Ian Rosenfeld, born December 31, 1963) is the rhythm guitarist for the metal band Anthrax and a former guitarist for the crossover band Stormtroopers of Death. Scott is one of the most influential guitar players to come out of the 1980s. He has hosted The Rock Show on VH1 and has appeared on VH1's I Love The 70's/80's/90's.

Rosenfeld was born in 1963 to a Jewish family in Bayside, Queens, New York City. On hearing KISS, he quickly absorbed the culture of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal rock movement and NYC hardcore. In 1981 he formed Anthrax with bassist Danny Lilker. He was the only original member of Anthrax still in the band. This year they have got back together to release an anthology album, DVD and world tour.

Scott is currently filming a reality series for VH1 with the provincial title of "Supergroup". Scott along with Ted Nugent (guitar), Evan Seinfeld (Biohazard, bass), Sebastian Bach (ex-Skid Row; vocals) and Jason Bonham (Bonham, UFO, Foreigner; drums) are filming in Las Vegas, with the premise being to lock several musicians in a house for 10 days and get them to write and record some new original music. Originally the network wanted the group to record an album, but at this time it is understood they will settle for one song and hope for more. In addition to the five musicians, star manager Doc McGhee (Kiss) is in charge and is also living in the house for the duration of filming/recording. The show will air on VH1 in May.

He is married to singer Pearl Aday.
