Wikipedia:Cleanup
From Free net encyclopedia
{{{1{{{1|}}}|
The cleanup page is a place where articles with problems (ungrammatical, poorly formatted, confusing, etc.) can be listed. Any user can fix or list articles here. Feel free to make use of the Wikipedia:Cleanup resources.
Older cleanup: Category:Cleanup by month. Pages are archived by month, but are still in need of cleanup (or de-listing if they have already been cleaned up).
Image:Janitor's bucket with mop.jpg
Also remember that you can submit an article in need of cleanup to the Cleanup Taskforce (which is always looking for members).
For more detailed information about this page, see Wikipedia:Cleanup process.
Just to let everyone know, there were 13,726 articles tagged for cleanup as of 12 February 2006 (UTC). This means that we are working on 1.33% of Wikipedia's articles. Most of these articles can be found under Category:Cleanup by month and are not listed below. Anything you can do to help clear the backlog would be greatly appreciated.
Oldest listings
- Please help reduce the size of this page by removing listings from previous months that have already been fixed. You may also remove listings that have not been fixed, as long as you move any outstanding comments to the article's talk page, and make sure that the article itself is still tagged for cleanup.
Other sorting methods
- To view articles by topic, see Wikipedia:Pages needing attention (currently being reorganized to include all articles tagged for cleanup)
- To view articles by type of problem, see Category:Wikipedia cleanup categories. (Not all articles classified by type of problem show up in the general cleanup queue.)

- Ranters The last part of the article (from *Note onwards) needs a cleanup, revision or possibly just deleting, as currently it honestly doesn't make rational sense.--Capreolus 12:50, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
- Los Angeles Lakers While the whole article needs cleanup, there's a specific point where there's a BIG drop-off in the quality of grammar and sentence structure in this article. I marked it at the appropriate point.--Jsol5 00:19, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
- William A. Webb This lengthy Confederate Navy article has loads of gramatical and styling errors. BusterD 01:00, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

- Pujari Laldas - does not read like an encyclopedic article, needs massive cleaning up. Good luck.
- I'm brand new to Wikipedia and maybe I need to be bolder, but I'm not sure what to do here. This article is a C&P job from the site that's linked at the very end of the article, which makes it a copyright violation, right?? So should the article actually be edited, or should it be deleted and restarted? I'm going to leave it alone until I get some guidance. Thanks. -- edi 16:26, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
- If it's a C&P job, then yes, it's a copy vio that should be deleted. --ApolloBoy 00:36, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
- Gahlot needs cleaning up. It's written very much from an insider perspective, it contains too much jargon to inform the unknowing reader. Aecis Mr. Mojo risin' 20:32, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
- Shira Manor Article does not yet contain any substantial information, other than some gossip about the relationship between this formerly unknown model and her boyfriend, a pop-star. As of yet, I do not see why this person would be notable. The poor information and text really strengthens this point. The article somewhat resembles a POV fork with the article Svika Pick. See history there. gidonb 01:57, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

- The List (My Name Is Earl) - There has been some discussion on the reformatting of this article. Namely, whether the List should be organized alphabetically or by the number associated with each wrongdoing. Alphabetical organization doesn't seem like the best way to organize it. However, there have been some discrepancies with numbering in the episodes. So, some executive ruling may be required. Discussions on the topic can be found in Talk:My Name Is Earl and Talk:The List (My Name is Earl). --Mongrel 07:57, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

- Ash Ketchum - The page contained quite a lot of unfixed vandalism. I have removed some, but cannot rule out there is more. - Mike Rosoft 18:29, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
- I've looked over the whole article (Ugh, Pokemon tedium) and it seems to be good. No vandalism, the grammar is mostly correct, if I caught it I'd have changed it. Although in the part with all his Pokemon, it can all be summarized into on section instead of the things with "Pokemon Ash Has Left..." with only one Pokemon there. Someone more experienced can do it. Blackcanoflysol

- Romance (novel) - a total mess, just copied from somewhere. Skinnyweed 16:49, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- I've cut this back to a much smaller bit of text, some of which just might be usable - I think that whoever tackles it next will need to cut out even more, as well as saying something solid about the book itself. This is a long way from being cleaned up, but it now needs another eye to look at it. Metamagician3000 07:14, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
- Disaster research - Mostly spam, but if unPOVified and moved to Disaster Research Center it may be okay. The topic itself seems legitimate, but the current article (created entirely by one "redlink" user) in its current state is not. I want a second opinion, but we should probably merge the intro in somewhere and turn the page into a redirect.--HereToHelp 21:14, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

- firestop Needs to be wikified, broken up into separate paragraphs, and the tone needs to be fixed. Nothing links to it. Sir Isaac Lime 00:29, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- Phew. I went in to attempt a clean up of this, and frankly, it's a mass of technical jargon and legal speach that to the the average reader would be completely non-understandable and unenlightening. I think what it needs is an engineer or architect to completely rewrite it in less technical terms and with more of a focus on what a firestop does and how it does it rather than the technical background of building codes and such. --Lendorien 00:23, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

- Today (album) needs to be completely rewritten. As I stated on the talk page: this article is a mess - it needs wikification, grammar, punctuation, formatting, and citation of sources, the whole nine yards. It doesn't read like an encyclopedia article, borrows copyrighted text without linking back to the source, is confusing to read - it's just not good at all.Fedallah 22:32, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hipster_doofus What in the world is this entry about? Most of the details from "The Hipster" section is taken from the wiki entry of the same name. This isn't UrbanDictionary; it really could use much more explanation and cleanup. 68.205.127.198 05:54, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

- The article Montana Women's Prison, while sourced, isn't actually about the prison per se, but rather about the treatment of Native American prisoners there. Needs wikification, a quick grammar check, and a move to a more appropriate title. An article on the actual prison might be nice too. ;o) ~J.K. 06:32, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
- Apocrypha requires a lot of copyediting - preferably from someone knowledgable on the subject of Judeo-Christian Apocrypha. It could also use worldwide views, if other major religions have apocryphal books. Rarr 06:27, 2 April 2006 (UTC)
- The article on Kazimierz Moczarski, a Polish resistance fighter and dissident, is somewhat rambling: but clear notability and no obvious evidence of inaccuracies. Needs general cleanup: copy edit, split into section, and sources. Cje 16:30, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

- I have moved it to List of gay, lesbian or bisexual actors and listed it at List of gay, lesbian or bisexual people. It still needs to be wikified. - Mike Rosoft 00:01, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
- Lesbian actresses, the list's counterpart, is now on VfD and is bound to be deleted. Perhaps this one should be nominated as well?

Can some also help me make better articles for the characters. I know a lot about the series but I don't have the words and the ability to upload images. Please help if you care. - Jackie Gleason Parts of this article, i.e. the section headings, seem a bit too glib. Is also for the most part unsourced. Gershwinrb 08:16, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
- Celebrity Fit Club. Not formatted well at all, I also have a problem with the glut of quotes given for the 3rd US season. I don't think this show (or the quotes) are notable enough to be included. - Babylonian influence on Greek astronomy - Needs to be reorganized and some concepts explained more clearly; also it should cover more than just Hipparchus among the Greeks to make it a worthwhile article. I have put more ideas on the talk page. I created this with a cut-and-paste from the oversized article on Hipparchus (astronomer) which is also in need of attention; it has become an attractor for all sorts of things having to do with ancient Greek astronomy. Regardless of the justifications user:Soman has attempted to submit so far-- and with all due respect, they seem pretty weak to me-- that does not detract from the fact that the article needs a complete rewrite. Most of it reads like a list, and even the parts that don't are scattered and often ambiguous. I've posted this page on as appropriate a Talk forum as I can find, to see if we can't enlist other people in this overhaul project. - List of Marilyns in England -- I'm very confused about how Marilyns are being listed on here. The Category:Marilyns of England lists them alphabetically if the tag is added to the page eg Dundry Down which I've done some bits as part of work on the Chew Valley on appears in alphabetical order while it appears on List of Marilyns in England under South Central England with the parent as Beacon Batch (Somerset), when Black Down and Walbery Hill (Berkshire) both are listed in South East England with the same parent. I'm not sure of the definition of "parent" as Beacon Batch & Dundry Down are oposite sides of the Chew Valley & doesn't comply with the rules at Topographic prominence. If these are going to be listed by area perhaps a section for the South West is needed & locations & parents need checking.Rod 19:44, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

- Alternative culture is a potentially worthy article, but it reads like original research and is badly written. I think the main problem is the author's assumed understanding of "the mainstream culture" as an unproblematic opposition to "alternative". - House System at the California Institute of Technology was merged from several different articles some time ago and is currently in a very sorry state. There is no consistency between the treatments of the various houses, much of the factoids presented are of no interest to anyone outside of Caltech, and quite a bit of the article smacks of original research. As a former student I can affirm that pretty much every fact presented is true, but I don't know how much of it is really verifiable. 63.201.92.7 07:54, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

All of them need help with formatting and grammar and categories. None of them have any sources and I haven't been able to verify any of them. It's been suggested in WP:ANI#User:Edbon3000 that Google simply doesn't show people in Filipino cinema but someone (maybe me) will start Afd'ing soon if some source isn't found.
